Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: This three volume set contains selected and peer-reviewed papers presented at the 3rd International Conference on Green Building, Materials and Civil Engineering held in Taiwan August 21-23, 2013. The conference is convened to promote the development of green building materials and to exchange research ideas. More than 400 papers were selected for this volume from 1000 plus submitted. Papers in Part One concern architecture and landscape design; residential, regional, and urban planning; and sustainable city and ecological planning. Those in Part Two discuss materials engineering and technologies, along with materials in industrial processes. Part Three contains papers examining civil engineering technologies. A sample of paper topics includes research on energy saving renovation of existing building in Tangshan, power generation forecasting of solar photovoltaic system using radial basis function neural network, research review on the anti-seismic characteristics of truss bridge structure, study of reinforced concrete bridge column ductility based on VB, analysis of temperature control mode of concrete construction in winter, blast furnace slag foundation packing grading and compaction characteristics analysis, discussion of several problems in the study of corrosion mechanism of steel-concrete composite beams, and study on characteristics and usage of Japanese paving materials.
