Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: This two-volume set from the April 2011 conference collects recent advances in biomaterials, hydrogen and fuel cell technology, environmental catalysis, polymeric materials, mechanical behavior, fracture, and thin films. Three papers from Yanshan University describe the synthesis of trigonal Schiff base compounds, functional luminol derivatives, and Schiff base derivatives. Several contributions from the Guangdong University of Technology analyze the leaching characteristics of heavy metals in industrial sewage sludge. Other topics of the 300 plus papers include rice straw pretreated with NaOH for biogasification, proton exchange membrane fuel cells, polymer composites embedded with ZnO whiskers, and flame retardant epoxy resins containing microcapsules. B&w images are provided.
