Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView:
Volume one in the three-volume set from the December 2011 conference presents the results of recent research on non-ferrous metal materials, iron and steel, composites, and nanomaterials. Two papers from the Jiangxi University of Technology describe the preparation of ferric oxide powders by hydrolysis and rare earth fluoride crystals by hydrothermal synthesis. The second volume discusses ceramics, magnetic materials, optical properties, new functional materials, environmental considerations, and energy materials. Several of the papers explore the luminescence properties of doped powders and phosphors. The last volume focuses on material forming and machining, numerical simulation of processing, surface engineering, coatings, mechanical behavior, and fracture. Topics of the 466 papers include the removal of iron and oil from hot condensed water, real-time monitoring of rebar corrosion in concrete, the adsorption of dyes from acidic wastewater, and stainless steels for piercing jewelry.
