Review from Ringgold Inc., ProtoView: This volume comprises re-formatted reprints of ten key papers on the fracture of composite materials which Hideki Sekine (approximately forty years at Tohoku U., with several fellowships in the U.S. and UK) participated in writing. With ever more sophisticated simulation techniques being developed to model phenomena from the molecular level to the composition structure, micromechanical modeling will also grow in importance. This book appears to be a useful collection for libraries interested in a one-stop collection on this subject. Consulting the long list of publications written or co-authored by Sekine, however, appears to be the only way of determining the original citation of a given paper. Contains brief keyword and author indexes.
