Abstract: City characteristics crisis is a problem need to be solved urgently. The paper will focus on analyzing the constituent elements of the characteristics features of Chinese cities in feudal period and modern times, and explaining the differences of them at different social backgrounds, to provide a useful research results for remodeling characteristic features of modern cities.

Abstract: This thesis considers the organization and design of heritage park portal space as the target. It develops corresponding initial analysis and planning application by the thinking style from site to scene. What’s more, it mainly discusses the value of the concept of “scene” in the planning and design by using “scene” as the guidance, through excavating, selecting and organizing the connotation of the target of the planning deeply. Then, the paper discusses and thinks it as a kind of exploratory methods.

Abstract: Planning permission is required for the carrying out of any development of land. The aim of this report is to understand the concept and procedure of development control law and identify what forms of development require a grant of planning permission, and which do not. It begins with setting out relevant facts of the case. Then it focuses on analyzing the lawfulness of the various activities on the land separately. At the same time, it is necessary to develop the understanding of intensification and the planning unit, since a material change of the use of a building or other land can occur through them. It is also important to explain the purpose of a planning contravention notice, the enforcement powers and procedure of the Local Planning Authority (LPA) to my client. Finally, it will presents what further actions may be taken by the LPA according to the relevant legislation and case law in the end of the report, such as issue an enforcement notice or a stop notice and, in particular, take enforcement action and so on.

Abstract: By the context of the tightening energy supply, growing environmental crisis and urban traffic congestion in current China, non-motorized traffic system provides new solutions. This paper learns from the ideas of planning and design of non-motorized traffic system in the other cities and explores the planning of Hangzhou non-motorized traffic system by the key control approach of zoning and classification. The studies show that the non-motorized traffic system planning in Hangzhou mainly proceeds from the pedestrian traffic system and non-motorized transportation system guides the traveling public with a concept of green travel. And it will contribute to achieving cities’ sustainable development by planning an efficient non-motorized traffic system.

Abstract: In the high-speed urbanization of China, urban fringe is at the forward position of urban expansion whose ecological security pattern, special form, land uses, industrial structure and traffic model would determine the future of the city. Based on PLUREL program, this article analyzed the negative and positive influences of urban fringe to urban expansion, pondered the reasons behind those negative influences and put forward advice to Wise Urban Expansion in Chengdu such as crack-shape land layout, mixed land use, tie-in implementation for ecological Greenland, conversion from traditional agriculture to ecological agriculture and so on.

Abstract: Objective: plan to choose the best planning scheme in the base of analyzing the integrated benefit of diversified Planning Schemes. Method: the study apply Analytical Hierarchy Process(AHP Method) and Fuzzy Compositive Evaluation method to estimate the integrated benefit evaluation which is produced by land remediation program. The integrated benefit include economy, society, and entironment. And we can choose the planning scheme by this way. Result: the result indicate that the index of the added plantation amount, advanced degree of the plantation quality and so on is the leading factor to affect integrated benefit, and is the chief factor to confirm the planning scheme. Conclusion: it takes on better practicability to choose the planning scheme of the land remediation by applying Analytical Hierarchy Process and Fuzzy Compositive Evaluation method

Abstract: Eco-city is a city designed and built with a well consideration of environmental impact and inhabited. It dedicated to minimization of required inputs in energy, water and food, and minimization of waste output in heat and pollution. This investigation was conducted to see how eco-city theory be applied in urban planning and construction. This study was performed by introducing the conception of eco-city, summarizing theory background and developing index framework, and analyzing a case of eco-city in China. The “case study” method was used to analyze the application of eco-city conception and theories. The results showed that eco-city conception and theories can be present in a well applying, and can be combined with local characteristic. What is more, international cooperation can be accepted by theory application in planning and construction for eco-city. It was concluded that eco-city theory can be applied in urban planning and construction. Local features and international cooperation can be applied in planning and construction of eco-city.

Abstract: Accompanied by the rapid economic development of China, the development velocity of cities is increased remarkably. But typical urban inclusive problems are also inevitable, such as huge differences in life quality, vulnerable districts separating by spatial barriers. In this paper, we make a brief analysis of the urban comprehensive design overview and scope of the study at first. And propose the principals of inclusive design as practicability, context relating and fairness attention. The purpose is to combine urban comprehensive design and promoting city inclusiveness in a new perspective. And discuss aspects what need to pay particular attention in inclusive comprehensive urban design. In order to achieved a fair and optimal allocation of social resources in entire society space. At last, give a brief conclusion about the inclusive comprehensive urban design significance in the current urban development for the cities.

Abstract: The paper reviewed the change of vernacular historical settlement protection since the last century, revealed a progress beginning from open-air buildings museum, via homeland museum and community museum, and going to ecomuseum. In the progress, the protection idea and method changes from expensive protective projects schemed by social elites to heritage protection managed by inhabitance of heritage areas democratically and combined with community development.

Abstract: Village gathering has become an important approach of urban and rural integrated development. According to the different village gathering subjects of Shandong Province, it includes four patterns------resource gathering by strong enterprises and villages, passive combination with city development, security guarantee with environmental deterioration and facility sharing with government guidance. It summarizes existed case problems and advances corresponding measures such as respect for public opinion, holding the time, planning guidance and institutional guarantee.
