Simulation of Vehicle Dynamic Behavior on Ro-Ro Ship

Article Preview

Abstract:

By modeling ship motion as two rotations, and modeling tire as spring and damper, the dynamics equation of ship and vehicle multibody system is developed using Lagrange equation. Runge-Kutta numerical method is used to get the solution of dynamics equation. The position of vehicle mass center and force between tire and deck contact are analyze for the safety of lash free design. The changing of position shows the stability of vehicle, and the zero vertical force in one tire shows that in severe conditions lash free design cannot ensure the safety of vehicle.
