The Modeling and Simulation for the Combined Mooring Windlass Test Rig

Article Preview

Abstract:

In order to inspect the working condition of the tension adjustment system of the marine hydraulic combined mooring windlass, the cable tension simulation device was established which is composed of the double-acting cylinder with electro hydraulic control. The simulation models of the cable tension simulation device and the cable tension adjustment system were set up in AMESim software. The simulation results of both models are verified by the experiments. The response of the tension adjustment system to the cable tension variation caused by the sea-wave is observed. The adjustment delay and maximum cable tension are obtained. The research in this paper provides the method to check the performance of the mooring windlass in the lab and provides the base for further optimization study on the dynamic response characteristic of the mooring windlass.
