The Topology Optimization for L-Shape Arm of Motorman-HP20 Robot

Article Preview

Abstract:

In this paper, the L-shape arm of Motorman-HP20 robot is light-weighted. Multi-body dynamic model of the robot with flexible parts is built to get the mechanical behaviors in the most critical condition. Then the forces of both ends of L-shape arm are obtained and applied to the FE model. Then the topology optimization method is applied to the FE model. Refer to the topological structure, the refined structure is given due to experience. The results show that the weight and maximum displacement of the new structure are 5.2Kg and 0.066 mm respectively, which are less than those of the original design at the same condition in this paper.
