License Plate Image Skew Correction Algorithm Based on Geometric Constraint

Abstract:

This paper proposes a new license plate image skew correction algorithm, which is based on the lowest pixels of a set of characters of the license plate. The skew angle is evaluated by applying moment calculation, and the method to get characters in license plate image is described in detail. It shows that the proposed algorithm is not only effective but also accurate.
