Detecting the Crack of Brake Disc of Urban Rail Vehicles

Article Preview

Abstract:

To develop a detective method of the crack within brake disc, digital image processing technology is applied, which based on the research on the characteristics of the crake within brake disc of the urban rail vehicles. The detective method could be divided into 3 procedures. Firstly the method is applied to preprocess the collected images, such as filtering and enhancement; then threshold segmentation and edge detection is combined to extract the crack; finally do post-processing on crack using the morphological knowledge, obtaining its geometric characteristic of the crack.
