Telemedicine Information Demands of Chinese Elderly People in the Future: Examination of Effectiveness in Applications

Abstract:

China had embarked several initiatives to take care of its aging population where modern and emerging information and communication technologies (ICT) had been heavily invested so as to use these technologies to enhance the life quality of its elders. By focusing on healthcare information domain, this paper attempted to forecast next generation of elderly information demands in the future, determining the effectiveness of using current & emerging ICT applications as a means to seek information. This was achieved by discussing the co-relationships between these technologies and adoption of elderly where the combined variables will influence the manner of elderly social behavior in receiving and sending information.
