An Explicit Analysis Method for Lifting Mechanisms

Article Preview

Abstract:

The forward push lifting mechanism of a dump truck is simplified to a combination of a four-bar linkage and a triangular arm. Based on quasi-static assumption, using linear transform and vector operations, an explicit analysis method is proposed to calculate joints’ dynamic position of the link lifting mechanism, which overcomes the difficulties of traditional method: roots discriminating of quadratic equations method and angle quadrant discriminating trigonometric functions method. And the pushing force of the stroke is solved from a linear system of only two equations. The validity of this proposed method is illustrated with a real engineering problem.
