Experimental Study of Mechanical Properties of Rubber during the Curing Process

Article Preview

Abstract:

Vulcanization as the most important part of the rubber production process, it plays a decisive role to the final mechanical properties. Various mechanical properties change differently during curing process. In this article, the mechanical properties of tire rubber material, such as hardness, tensile strength, stress at definite elongation, elongation ratio at break, permanent compression deformation and modulus are analyzed at different state of vulcanization. The results show that changes of various mechanical properties are different during curing process, the longer curing time the smaller permanent compression deformation, the changes of hardness are very big, and the other properties also changed a lot. The study has a very important guidance to actual production and academic research.
