Rheological Behavior during Melt Ring-Opening Polymerization of Macrocyclic Aryl Ester Dimer

Article Preview

Abstract:

Macrocyclic aryl ester dimer has been synthesized from o-phthaloyl dichloride with bisphenol A under pseudo high dilution conditions via interfacial polycondensation. The rheological behaviors during ring-opening polymerization of cyclic ester dimer at different experiment conditions have been investigated. The results show that it exists initial stage in the ROP reaction and the viscosity is lower than 10Pa·S in the initial period. The length of the initial stage can be controlled by the experiment conditions and the viscosity increases dramatically after the initial stage.
