Comparative Study on Traditional Settlement Patterns of Guangfu and Chaoshan

Article Preview

Abstract:

Guangfu and Chaoshan are the main settlement areas of Guangfu clan and one branch of Fulao clan, which are river delta and coastal plain respectively, both in good farming conditions. The diversities in micro geographical conditions, development history, social and financial mechanism cause distinctive differences in the patterns of their settlements. This paper aims at laying out the differences along with discussions about factors - especially in the aspect of socio-culture rather than nature - that cause the differences.
