Water Quality Evaluation of a Pumped-Storage Reservoir in Ningxia, China

Article Preview

Abstract:

Shuidonggou Reservoir is a pumped-storage reservoir pumping water directly from Yellow River in Ningxia, China. Combined membership function with weights, fuzzy comprehensive method with five indicators was used to evaluate the reservoir water quality in four months of 2011. The results showed that the water quality belonged to level IV in May, July and August, and to level V in September of 2011. TN and TP were the two most important indicators which have strong impact on Shuidonggou Reservoir water quality. We propose that some solutions should be carried out to protect the reservoir water quality.
