The Comparison of Energy Saving Characteristic of Traditional Residential Envelope Structure in Southeastern Shanxi

Article Preview

Abstract:

According to the preliminary analysis and classification of the construction materials, the traditional residential in southeastern Shanxi could be divided into three different categories; brick building (most with two floors), brick bungalow and cave. The collected data and simplified models of these three kinds of traditional residential were used to calculate the energy saving characteristic of their outer envelope structures. Furthermore, the difference of energy consumption during the heating period was compared, and thus provides a theoretical basis for the optimization of traditional-residential-energy-saving transformation and new buildings.
