A Heuristic Algorithm for Integrated Surplus Inventory Matching Problem in Steel Enterprises

Abstract:

This paper concentrates on the integrated surplus inventory matching problem (ISIM) in steel enterprises in which the three main product types, slab, hot-rolled coil and cold-rolled coil, are taken into account. A multi-objective model is formulated to maximize the total weight of matched products and to minimize the total cost involved. A heuristic algorithm is proposed on the basis of the analysis on the problem. The experimental results show the model and algorithm are effective.
