Abstract:

This article is to analyze the necessity of renewing existing residential districts to be sustainable ones and define the concept of sustainable residential districts in accordance with the theory of sustainable development. On the basis of objective analysis for the disadvantages of existing residential districts, it puts forward some principles and corresponding countermeasures of renewal for sustainable development of existing residential districts.
