Consistency Checking Based on Ontology of Design Information

Article Preview

Abstract:

This paper aims the ontology consistency to detect and identify potential conflicts and contradictions in the BIM design process, to improve the efficiency of the coordination and communication between engineers in departments. The information of building design such as concepts, nature, requirements, restrictions, etc., can be standardized by the ontology using a computer language, basing on which, consistency is detected. This paper describes the process that conflicts or contradictions are identified in the BIM design and modified to restore the process.
