An Analysis of Cultural Factors in High-Speed Train Design - Taking Virgin Pendolino High-Speed Train as an Example

Article Preview

Abstract:

The production of high-speed train in China is technology-oriented, rather than design-oriented, so the analysis and research of high-speed train related to design and cultural factors is very scarce. In this article, the author took Virgin Pendolino high-speed train as an example, and analyzed the influence of multi-cultural factors in high-speed train design. The analysis of the article carried out from two aspects: one is the users’ cultural backgrounds of the design, which refers to the countries or regions in which the train are running; the other is the providers’ culture of the design, including high-speed train operators and designers. Through a detailed interpretation and analysis of the impact of cultural factors on Virgin Pendolino design, the author attempts to provide a useful reference to China’s high-speed train design.
