Stress Monitoring Research in Dancing Condition of Transmission Tower Based on FBG Sensors

Article Preview

Abstract:

The stress distribution on transmission tower was found out by finite element analysis. Combined with analysis results, FBG(Fiber grating) strain sensors were fixed on upper part of tower, cross-arm of tower and body of tower, to monitor the stress of tower in dancing condition. FBG sensor measuring results and finite element analysis results are consistent, and the error is less than 10%.Research indicates that the 24th point is the maximum point of stress at the wind speed of 20m, and the maximum value is beyond yield stress. So the part of tower needs to be reinforced to avoid danger occurring.
