Design of Combine Harvester Chassis Weld Deformation Prediction System Based on Virtual Instrument

Article Preview

Abstract:

To promote the detection efficiency of combine harvester chassis frame welding deformation, a weld deformation detection system was coming up in this paper to automatically detect the weld deformation of combine harvester chassis frame. The system assessed weld deformation according to flatness and parallelism of the specific plane of combine harvester chassis frame. Two high-precision laser sensors were mounted on broadside of a gantry to measure the parallelism of the chassis frame, and another two laser sensors were mounted on top of the gantry to measure the flatness of the chassis frame. The analogue signal from the laser sensors was collected by a data acquisition instrument. Two step motors were mounted on a liner guide placed at bottom of the gantry to drive the chassis frame to specific measurement positions. A software developed by LabWindows/CVI@ accomplished human interaction besides of controlling the step motors, reading the laser sensors via data acquisition instrument, and displaying the flatness and parallelism. A serial of testing showed the system could measure the flatness and parallelism of the chassis frame automatically, and meet the needs of combine harvester chassis frame weld deformation prediction.
