Abstract: The effect of the sintering temperature, quartz and sodium phosphate content on the core strength, shrinking percentage and solubility of alumina matrix ceramic cores was investigated. The results show that:the more the quartz is, the higher of the bending, tensile strength at room temperature of core are;It has the extreme point when quartz is 10wt%, then decreases slightly. The shrinkage rate and the room temperature strength of core increases with the rising of sintering temperature, but decreases with the increasing of content of sodium phosphate. Furthermore, the effect of the sintering temperature, quartz powder and sodium phosphate content on solubility of core was discussed.

Abstract: Orange peel, an agricultural waste available in large quantity in China, was utilized as low-cost adsorbent to remove furadan from aqueous solution by adsorption. Adsorption isotherms were calculated and discussed. Both Langmuir and Freundlich models fitted the adsorption data quite reasonably (R2 > 0.98) and the maximum adsorption capacity was 161.29 mg.g-1. The results in this study indicated that orange peel was an attractive candidate for removing furadan from the aqueous solution.

Abstract: Alpaca wool is soft and thin, smooth and delicate, can be applied to many areas of production, such as coat, stuffed shirts, scarves, tapestries, bags, carpets, etc. In this paper, surface morphology and mechanical performance of four kinds of alpaca wool and cashmere were investigated. Fiber diameter, strength and surface morphology of Peru alpaca is similar to Cashmere. Fiber diameter, strength of Peru alpaca is much smaller than those of the other three alpaca wool. The results provide a reference for spinning process development and fiber identification.

Abstract: Heterogeneous method for grafting of syringaldehyde (SD) onto chitosan by laccase oxidation, yielding a product with improved antioxidant activities. The results showed that about 1.1% amino groups participated in this reaction. The FTIR showed that the absorption of amino groups were decreased, the absorption of benzene ring structures were disappeared and a new band appeared at 1637 cm-1 corresponding to C=N vibrations that were due to the Schiff base reaction between the chitosan and syringaldehyde. Additionally, the chitosan had insignificant reducing power and DPPH free radical scavenging activity, SD-chitosan had reducing power of A700=0.684, DPPH free radical scavenging activity of 53.2%. SD-chitosan presented improved antioxidant properties.

Abstract: The distribution characteristics of heavy metals in EPS,inside and outside cells were studied. Extract EPS from MT genetic engineering bacter, then perform the bioleaching experiment .Study the content of heavy metals in EPS and cells. We draw the conclusion that the distribution characteristics of heavy metal ions are in three types: EPS type, intracellular type, balance type.

Abstract: Red wines were made from Vitis vinifera cv. Cabernet Sauvignon in China at different methods of maceration. The effects of using different winemaking technologies during maceration on the quality characteristics, in terms of colour, aroma profile and sensory characteristics, of the wines before bottling were evaluated, and made a comparison with the effects of adding skins. Seed contact treatments raised wine colour intensity, proanthocyanidins, tannins, and polyphenols content in comparison to the control wines. However, as indicated in the sensory evolution, the significant increase in astringency intensity was found in the wines with seed contact. Besides, the bitterness of the red wine also increased in the wines with seed contact, but it was not significantly.

Abstract: Effects of different methods of gas package on freshness of harvested fresh Sweet Corn, at room temperature in its shelf life were investigated. The harvested fresh Sweet Corn were packaged under vacuum, air, N2 or CO2, respectively, and then stored 90 days at 30°Cafter the high temperature sterilization. After the sterilization and during storage, the changes of aerobic plate count, water content, soluble sugar content, and TPA were determined. The results showed that compared with others, the package with N2 could inhibit the growth of microorganisms, kept the content of water, soluble sugar and fat. After 90 days, TPA showed that the package in nitrogen could improve the quality of sweet corns.

Abstract: In this study, we developed a fluorescence measurements in microplates for high-throughput determination of nitric oxide (NO) metabolites, which is used as a reliable and sensitive marker of NO production, in biological fluids using a pH-independent fluorescence increasing probe, DAMBO-PH. The sensitivity of this method is lower than that of the other detection methods reported in the literature. This method was demonstrated to be useful for the rapid screening of large numbers of biological and clinical samples, and should be an important tool for further clarifying the physiology, pathology and pharmacology roles of NO.

Abstract: The research on accelerated seeded precipitation pre-treatment for the improvement of secondary RO membrane was investigated. The influences of seed type, initial pH and seed dosage on accelerated seeded precipitation were studied. SEM images for the secondary RO membrane were also discussed.

Abstract: The metal transfer behaviors of basic flux cored wire at different arc voltage and welding current and the resultant welding spatter were investigated by using a high speed camera. Two modes of metal transfer are found: globular repelled transfer (lower welding parameters) and small droplet transfer (higher welding parameters). The former is accompanied by large granular spatter, large droplet itself explosion spatter and electric explosive spatter of short-circuit, and spatter in the latter is reduced obviously. But if the slag column is found in the two models, spatter could be dropped evidently owing to its significant guiding role for metal transfer. Therefore the slag column is the key factor of reducing welding spatter.
