Web Structural Optimization of the Big Aviation Herringbone Gear Based on APDL Language

Abstract:

We attempt to optimize the structure of double web on aviation herringbone gear with a big transmission ratio. We established an optimization mathematical model of the big aviation herringbone gear web, developed an optimization calculation procedure based on APDL language. The web structure of big aviation herringbone gear in a helicopters main gearbox has been optimized. We calculated the dynamic response of the gear web before and after optimization and proved that our method can improve its dynamic characteristics, reduce its stress level and achieve good results.
