Abstract:

Through the comparative analysis of the stores' facades in the center of Fukuoka City (Japan) and Nanjing City (China),to clarify the characteristics of the various types of facades. The physical research includes the structural component, the decoration component and the auxiliary component of facades. And it comes out there are 5 types (traditional type, POP type, window type, open type, enclosed type) of apparel & accessories store, daily product stores, and food & drink stores. Meanwhile, we find the facades in Fukuoka, cloth, plants, wood and other natural materials are used more. On the contrast, Nanjing has more colorful advertisement style facades, which shows Nanjings facades emphasize on advertising product and chasing the eye-catching effect.
