The FEA Comparison of the Front Sub Frame in a Car between JDM2 Magnesium and Steel

Article Preview

Abstract:

Application of new materials is one of the principal means of lightweight automobile. Magnox with high strength and stiffness, good casting performance, collision resistance, damping, shock-absorbing performance, recycling, and other characteristics, is ideal for automotive lightweighting materials. Analysis comparison is done for the original front sub frame between steel materials and JDM2 magnesium. By find out the problems of the front sub frame with JDM2 magnesium referring to the analysis results, the foundation is made for the redesigning of the front sub frame with JDM2 magnesium.
