The Water Usage Method and Spatial Structure Type of Spring Village in Northern China

Abstract:

Spring village is a widely existing type of human settlement in northern China, the spring water usage with natural environment is the main factor of the heterogeneous spatial structure in spring village. By the analysis for hierarchically usage of multi-kind values, this paper introduces the spatial structure and feature of typical villages under the views of living, manufacture, ecology and landscape. Meanwhile, based on the combination of modern function requirement and spring water usage, the settlement-spatial conservation, which relies on natural environment, is seen as the essential way for the sustainable development of spring settlement.
