Photovoltaic Architectural Shadow and a Case Analysis

Article Preview

Abstract:

Shadow is one of the important issues in building integrated photovoltaics (PV) design stage with which must be faced. If it is not solved well, it would seriously affect the energy yield of the system and the project benefits. This paper, based on Beijing-Shanghai high speed railway Nanjing south station PV demonstration project, gives the visualization analysis of shadows in annual regional shadow as well as the maximum amount of solar radiation. The research and application of optimizing the system efficiency will drive the development of building integrated PV and promote building energy efficiency and emission reduction.
