Empirical Analysis on Relationship between Urbanization Level and Employment Rate Based on VAR Model

Article Preview

Abstract:

The study conducts analytical research through cointegration test and granger causality based on data regarding urbanization and employment level from 1978 to 2012 in Shaanxi Province. To be specific, cointegration test reveals long-term equilibrium between the urbanization level and employment rate in Shaanxi, while one-way granger causality is found between them through test. Finally, through the establishment of the VAR model, impulse response analysis and variance analysis, the strength and path about how urbanization level and employment in Shaanxi Province affect each other is indicated.
