Abstract: Social media significantly affect the development of the information and knowledge-based society in terms of business and sustainable development. They are important sources of information, they create stakeholder networks, databases, play an important role in communication with target groups, and influence purchasing behaviour. This article focused on the use social media when searching for product to be purchased information. A questionnaire survey revealed that there is a significant positive relationship between the intention of buying a product and its purchase via social media. It was also found out that searching for information on a product to be purchased using social media is not influenced by gender or average monthly income.

Abstract: The following paper presents an IT tool for aiding assessment of a safety culture level in an organization in a form of an application, providing fast and easy way to analyze data obtained from questionnaires. Traditional data analysis often turns out to be time-consuming and labor-intensive. To make the process faster, more detailed and to find all the possible links among all the available data there is a need for an IT tool. The presented application has been developed with publicly available and completely free tools and technologies. It is a complete piece of software, fully flexible which can be modified or equipped with new functions (modules). The presented solution eliminates the time consuming process of “copying” data from paper questionnaires, and allows to get information about the safety culture level right after adding a questionnaire to a questionnaire database. The presented tool can function as a mobile questionnaire which can be used in any place with Internet access and to fill it in only a browser is required.

Abstract: Integration of IT applications in companies has always been a hot topic in recent years, leading to the creation of a new working style in the software: Enterprise Application Integration. To present the essence and very detailed image of this, is a main purpose of the paper. After a literature review, authors have described a chosen system, which is being used by the local government entities. The first part of the article traces the evolution of embedded computing applications management companies and the problems that were inevitable faced during the integration efforts. Then, in the article, the infrastructure of EAI is presented, with the detailed description of its: Front, Back, Middle and Web Office areas. In the practical part of the article the structure of Romanian Local Government is presented. And the last of part of the article is derived to Document Management System – a system used in local government authorities. The summary contains authors’ own considerations and conclusions.

Abstract: The aim of the paper is the analysis of the development of electricity management in households using modern information technology - Smart Grid. The experiences of the countries which are crucial for the global economy, such as China or the USA, prove that Smart Grid can be used not only in business but also it can be applied in households. Due to the significant share of households in the use of electricity, combining them into a network using modern IT is to optimize the flow of energy in accordance with the current consumption, providing an opportunity of household management. The application of Smart Grid is also another step in the development of the concept of information society and it can enable the transition to a sustainable power system.

Abstract: Effective planning, coordination, and scheduling of the maintenance function can be, and for many years was, accomplished without computer support. However, in these days of high technology and rapid, economical data communication, job preparation is accomplished far more efficiently with the support of a sound maintenance management information system. Fast, flexible access to reliable, current, and comprehensive information is vital if planners and managers are to control the maintenance function on the basis of knowledge rather than intuition. The paper presents a maintenance information management system designed for the needs of the healthcare company. Due to its universality, the system can read information from different sources, appropriately process, interpret and deliver it to the right people in the most appropriate manner.

Abstract: Decision support systems are tools that extend the functionality of management information systems. Similarly, spatial decision support systems (SDSS) enhance the capabilities of geographic information systems (GIS) with analytical modelling capabilities and support processes of spatial decision making. SDSS offer many kinds of spatial analyses, from processing data (as well spatial as other data residing in databases), do intelligent maps and models of different types of phenomena. Regional Busines Spatial Community (RBSC) is the concept of community gathering units responsible for building infrastructure networks and supplying utilities for citizens of a region.The authors try to create the community on the basis of companies and institutions from the territory of the City of Częstochowa. A commonality of all the aforementioned stakeholders is to be the possibility to participate in the shared SDSS with the purpose of planning infrastructure investments on the territory of the city. This paper aims to examine the functionality of accessible GIS and to indicate how they can be enhanced with analytical modeling capabilities for the needs of the considered community.

Abstract: Radio Frequency Identification is a technology which is developing fast now while taking into account the area of the automatic identification of goods. In the paper, there is presented RFID as one of the latest and most promising logistics technologies. There have been indicated the RFID essence, analyzed the support for warehousing processes in the selected surveyed company and examples of the ways of using RFID application in the selected warehousing processes of the selected sectors.

Abstract: Business intelligence (BI) solutions are aimed to help managers make decisions in enterprises. Through complex analysis, decision-makers are supported in building strategies of operation. Managers in small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) are also becoming more aware of the fact that conventional methodology of analysis of current events is insufficient. Therefore, the need arises for using the solutions that support the processes of data analysis, finding relationships between each other or pointing to important tendencies and anomalies. These systems were primarily oriented at larger enterprises. However, BI solutions are more and more often adjusted to SME enterprises, offering a complex tool to support decision-making processes. This paper presents key stages in evolution of BI systems and characterizes selected BI systems dedicated to small and medium enterprises (SMEs). Substantial barriers to implementation of BI systems in SMEs were also indicated.

Abstract: In contemporary world it is hard to imagine corporations, which are able to function without applying well-developed IT systems supporting the business administration. The degree of their use and usefulness depends largely on the course of the process of the implementation of new tools in a learning organization, which every company seeking new solutions undoubtedly become. In the this article authors try to direct attention on the effectiveness of introducing ERP systems in corporations with particular reference to appearing problems. Their correct identification, classification and moving to the foreground these most essential lets for effective management of the whole implementation, minimizing risks associated with possible mistakes.

Abstract: Modern companies operate in conditions of high competition and rapidly changing customer needs and expectations. In such a reality, one of the solutions to achieve success, is to establish cooperation with selected market participants. The partners’ choice determine the needs of the company and market’s expectations. The cooperation focuses on the optimal use of available resources and creating relational resource, takes place in virtual space. Access to this space and effective in its functioning, are associated with the use of information and communication. Thanks to ICT, companies can be found, as well as establish and maintain a collaboration between them.
