Abstract: A dynamic development of IT applications automating external processes based on a B2B model refers to a variety of enterprises, including construction companies. Due to the high variability of data during the construction processes performance and the need of a continuous data bases supplied with current data, construction companies expect a good, multifunctional and efficient system - a B2B platform that supports the exchange of data between the ERP system, perceived as an operational layer, and modules responsible for the design, cost estimation, monitoring and control of construction processes implemented in the headquarters and directly on the building site, including the cooperation with subcontractors. The main aim of this article is to present the results of research focused on software functionalities currently available on the market which support a construction process. Ultimately, the results will be used to identify functional gaps in existing software for the construction industry. Then, the functional architecture will be designed containing standard and specialized components that will be the basis for the creation of B2B system OPTIbud.

Abstract: One of the complexity metrics that contribute towards determination of the overall complexity of supply chains is based on so called static complexity. In this article, we firstly present an architectural framework for supply chain networks. Subsequently, selected complexity indicators based on Axiomatic Design theory and Boltzmann entropy are applied. The indicators used are benchmarked based on computational experiments. Finally, relevant conclusions are formulated.

Abstract: To meet the requirements of efficient management, organizations increasingly use computer systems supporting management. The main function of an information system is to provide the data needed to solve all sorts of problems. To be able to solve the problems of decision-making, it is necessary to transform the information and input data in the resulting information. The content of cognitive processes is growth through the use of graphical forms involving the preparation of charts. Thanks to information technologies, appropriate diagrams, their proper design and presentation are chosen. The results are more clear than in the general tables. The subject of this article is to emphasize the need for visualization of the results of the technological process analysis on the example of the stability map study.

Abstract: The subjects of the study presented in this Chapter are production process phenomena occurring in the world of analyses, referred to as the stability and quality map in the Toyota systems – the analysis of the map in terms of the resource of result points belonging to the rings of surroundings – creation of the rings using circular surroundings of a technically selected centre by using different types of topological metrics – analysis of the coefficient of variation in respect of the percentage distribution of the belonging of result points – an attempt to interpret the practicality of the result. Epitome of computer support in respect of the same processes and computer aided statistical calculations, generating decisions.

Abstract: Cloud computing systems usage in enterprises has become very popular in recent years. On the world market there is an increasing number of cloud computing services providers with more or less complex solutions in their offer. Thanks to cloud computing services SMEs have the chance to compete with big corporations. The article presents the usage of cloud computing in the European enterprises in comparison with enterprises from the United States, the use of cloud computing solutions in enterprises of the EU countries in 2014 and prognosis on the use of cloud technologies in Eastern European countries between 2014 and 2017. The aim of the article is to present the current state of cloud systems adoption in European enterprises and to conduct the comparative analysis of the data structure based on the rough sets theory.

Abstract: The integrated ERP system includes in a unitary whole that is performed in an enterprise, production, distribution, accounting, finance, stocks, service and maintenance, logistics and provides information accessibility, visibility and consistency for the entire enterprise. The ERP system enables the integration of all information applications into a global information solution, occupying all organizational elements in an enterprise, which are in a close mutual interdependency. Thus, the delimitations between the departments and divisions of the enterprise, including those between the enterprise and its environment are removed, thus providing the enterprise with multiuser, multipurpose and multispace working possibilities. The main purpose of this article is to present the very wide and deep overview of ERP systems, together with its applications, structure, opinions and algorithms of ERP functioning.

Abstract: Computers are more and more often used in training people. One of the most popular methods in this respect is e-learning. One of its biggest advantages is that the student may choose the best time and place to learn, as well as the pace of learning. Thanks to constant access to the material he may come back to difficult issues, analyze them again or comment on forums. It is a convenient solution for people who for some reasons cannot participate in traditional indoor training and therefore are unable to access the whole material. However, contemporary training didactics emphasizes teamwork skills. It is more and more often indicated that teamwork has an inspiring influence on the workers. It boosts their activity, co-operation, rational work management and responsibility for real effects. The article presents the score of an exam in Information Technology. The exam was taken by bachelor degree students of logistics. 160 students took part in the research. A part of the students learned the material with a teacher and the other part through e-learning. The research shows the diversification of stores of both groups. The aim of this article is to show that using not the whole e-learning system, but only its certain elements leads to lower effectiveness of education process.

Abstract: Advanced computer systems played an important role in economic life for a long time. We can notice it in all aspects of business operations, including logistics. IT systems are important not only in the logistics activities of individual operators, but they also improve activities within integrated supply chains. The article focuses on the proper selection of IT system for logistics operations. It presents a comparison of selected IT systems dedicated to logistics: their range of functionalities and features, as well as the ability to use it in specific types of enterprises. The main aim of the article is to analyze the suitability of each ERP systems in two main areas of logistics: storage and transport. The author also attempts to select optimal solution for a particular economic operator.

Abstract: The paper aims to explain the technology of emergence of information. Our research proves that information as communicational product is the result of processing within some operations, actions, mechanisms and strategies of informational material meanings. Are determined eight computational-communicative operations of building information.Information occurs in two communication phases, syncretic and the segregation-synthetic. The syncretic phase consists of four operations: referral of significant field, primary delimitation of information, detection-looking information and an anticipative-draft constitution (feedforward). The segregation-synthetic phase also includes four operations: discrimination, identification, interpretation and confrontation (feedback). In the future we will investigate informational actions, mechanisms and strategies.

Abstract: The article presents statistical research results concerning the application of ICT in Polish enterprises in years 2010 – 2014. Particular attention was paid to the number of enterprises (according to size classes) which use computers and Internet access in their business activity. Moreover, the Author discusses the types of Internet connections which are most frequently applied in Polish enterprises including the percentage of mobile access. Furthermore, the paper presents the degree to which such services as EDI, e-government, cloud computing as well as ERP and CRM systems are used by Polish enterprises to exchange information outside and inside them. It also compares the number of enterprises which purchased information and telecommunication equipment and the height of those expenses. The study ends with the comparison of the use of ICT in Polish and EU enterprises.
