Abstract: This work approaches the assessment of the security and information risks in order to find the optimal values of the risks by applying and comparing different methods to measure and assess the security risks. By describing structural characteristics of standards and methods implemented in the information security management system (ISMS), this paper underlines the necessity, means and effectiveness of information security modeling. The conclusions of this paper highlights the importance of standards and methods of risk management assessment.

Abstract: The quality of data is recognized to be a key issue for the assets management in enterprises as data is the foundation of any decision making process. Recent research work has established that the quality of data is highly dependent on the knowledge one has on the socio-technical system being considered. Three modes of knowledge have been identified: knowing what, knowing how and knowing why. In this paper we focus on how to manage these modes of knowledge in durable socio-technical systems to enhance the data quality face to technological progress and employees turnover. We believe that an organization based on ISO 9001 international standard can provide a valuable framework to provide the data quality needed to an efficient decision making process. This framework has been applied to design the data quality management system within a high education socio-technical system. The most important benefits that have been noticed are: 1) a shared vision on the external clients of the system with a positive impact on the definition of the strategy and the objectives of the system and 2) a deep understanding of the data client-supplier relationship inside the socio-technical system. A direct consequence of these achievements was the increasing knowledge on “know-what” data to collect, “know-why” to collect that data and “know-how” to collect it.

Abstract: This paper presents a new methodology entitled AVTRIZ by its author, which allows technical, economic and managerial innovation based on the forecasting approach, while operating inside various systems. As the foundation of the new methodology, a classical method was chosen, well-known and widely applied that is the Method of Value Analysis and Engineering, a domain where the author has previous concerns. Starting from the fact that this method is deficient in terms of generating improvement solutions, the author searched and identified a method of current interest and global opportunity that is the TRIZ method [1], which is a method of wide debate, very controversial in terms of its adaptability from the technical to the business and management domains. On the other hand, TRIZ is deficient in terms of checking the solutions, a fact which can be successfully compensated by the Value Analysis Engineering method. Based on the above-mentioned approach, the research activities carried out by the author have brought in a new methodology, which is structured on 3 steps, 8 stages and 30 phases, based on the method of Value Analysis and Engineering, while also applying the TRIZ method.

Abstract: The modern tools of today's concurrent engineering (CE) based management are a wide array of instruments, plans, software, technical skills, human capabilities and resources. This paper aims to emphasize the benefits of such a system implementation in a business environment based on case studies retrieved from scientific literature and author's personal experience in a private working environment. Constant team sessions, briefs, workshops and brainstorming sessions proved to be very powerful tools for the management teams subjected to these studies in order for them to develop fully stable concurrent teams. The paper also highlights the fact that even from the implementation phase the workflow within the CE offers excellent opportunities for continuous improvements of the system and fine tunings of tools that are correspondent to it. As result, CE proves to be one of the best systems around in terms of efficiency, scalability and of course, results.

Abstract: The present paper presents the educational activities of a Leonardo da Vinci project from Lifelong Learning Programme, project called "Launching of Sector Skills Alliance for Training & Apprenticeship of Health Care and Food Supplements Salespersons" (H-CARE). The project aims to provide an innovative and practically oriented training curriculum for Health sector stakeholders, who offer services in assistive technologies, medical devices and food supplements. The curriculum includes information about medical devices, assistive technologies and food supplements, such as products manufacturing, specific characteristics, and potential risks caused by their use.

Abstract: Mathematical programming models and especially their subclass - linear programming models - plays an extremely important role, both in theory and in economic practice. Linear programming, through its results, brought a considerable contribution to improving management methods in economics and it has boosted theoretical research in modeling complex economic systems, study and interpretation of laws and economic processes. Developing and designing a model for achieving the economic performance of the industrial system allows managers making optimal decision and ensures the improvement of their activity. This paper aim is to determine an optimal manufacturing program for an industrial system, so that, by its implementation, to achieve economic performance. The manufacturing program conducted using a computer software will allow this entity to optimize their management decision process by providing information related to physical production that must be executed on each of their the products, or about the unused or overloaded capacity, in order to maximize their profits.

Abstract: Promoting technological entrepreneurship in Romania is essential to support sustainable development in the actual context of a slow recovery after the recent crises and turbulences. SMEs have gone through a difficult period and the ones that remained on the market have demonstrated solidity and an adequate, based on flexibility, response to market movements. In emerging markets SMEs represents innovative vectors equipped with capabilities, knowledge, strategies and organizational development. Considering the low efficiency recovery after the crises and turbulences due to the volatility of global business (constantly changing customer expectations and identity, disruptive technological change, acceleration of innovation-based competition, market orientation for higher returns) we can see a good potential for Romanian technological SMEs. The main problem is related to the financing. The banking system is not interested in these types of projects and the capital market is still inaccessible for this type of investments. The government efforts to solve this problem are limited by the lack of appropriate tools, markets and institutional architecture. In this case is necessary to analyze new innovative financing solutions better adapted to the current dynamics of the technological entrepreneurship. An analysis of the possibilities to develop innovative solutions based on market functionality and institutions is presented. The focus is on natural, sustainable and flexible solutions, based on market mechanisms. The implementation of innovative financing solutions for technological SMEs is a very complex initiative, but the results will be visible immediately, contributing decisively to the development of entrepreneurship.

Abstract: Permanent changes and controlled environmental conditions change in operating companies and requires new management methods. Success in modern sustainable development is an area of concern for both managers and for people science. Article discusses the career success in industrial enterprises which promotes sustainable development by setting the quantitative and qualitative components, identify methods for assessing employee performance, productivity measurement and analyzes the changing resource targeting mechanisms that drive towards achieving sustainable excellence of industrial companies.

Abstract: Manufacture of wastewater treatment technologies is an important issue due to the complexity of design parameters and performance. Biological wastewater treatment is a process in which the intensity of oxygen transfer into water is an issue that has been extensively studied but yet insufficiently resolved. The present paper aims to describe an aeration system developed by the author in the laboratory by means of non-conventional technologies, and subsequently implemented in refinery wastewater treatment plants. The aeration system takes the form of modules, which are equipped with a new type of membrane. The analysis of the system performance revealed that oxygen transfer was 62%, specific adsorption of oxygen was 37 % and the specific oxygen transfer was 7%/m. The advantages of this new system are as follows: compared to existing technologies there is a higher rate of oxygen transfer into water; longer life; there are no dead zones in the basin as a result of their location; possibility of operating on separate sections.

Abstract: Since 1950, the use of water jets has grown in the field of cleaning pipes and sewers. The regular cleaning of the materials deposed in sewer networks is realised especially with equipment that uses high pressure water jets. The functioning of this equipment is dependent on certain process parameters that can vary, causing variations of the impact forces. The impact force directly affects the cleaning of sewer systems. This article is a part of research activity what is centered on the study of the cleaning head - sewer system. The purpose of this research is to determine an equation of the impact forces of the water jet that depend on process parameters. The research method used is that of the full factorial plan. For the experimental determination of the impact forces a stand for generating water jets and a device for measuring the forces of impact are used. The equation of the impact forces measured is determined using the software Minitab 17.
