Abstract: Article describes the problem of heat cladding in family houses built from unburnt clay, that do not represent listed buildings and had already undergone various reconstructions (restorations). Presented are measurements of basic thermotechnical properties of clay wall in historical family house and analysed is fragment of clay wall in its original condition and after renovation, considering building heat engineering requirements.

Abstract: The article is focused on the theoretical calculation of double-skin façade without effect of wind. Each algorithm needs entry figures for initiation, so that the computing could be started. Incoming data entry of this computing program consists of two parts - geometric and physical parameters of double-skin façade. Calculation of the mass flow in inter-space is a highly complex matter. Particular unknown quantities in heat computing and air mass flow are unknown and interdependent to each other. Algorithms of their specification by iteration method are processed for designation of these values.

Abstract: This article deals with the long-term testing of experimental lightweight wall and comparison of the measurement with two different simulation software packages – WUFI and ESP-r in term of temperatures inside the fragments. Two lightweight timber-frame wall fragments with various outdoor coating colors were exposed to the real outdoor boundary climate conditions for four years. The indoor boundary conditions were secured as constant. In the wall fragments there are several built-in sensors.

Abstract: In building simulations initial conditions express the actual hygrothermal state of building envelope. For the temperature field simulations initial condition is represented by the initial temperature in the body profile at the start of heat transfer. In-structure temperature varies quickly so temperature initial conditions are often neglected. The contribution shows various temperature initial conditions determination for insulated construction of outdoor test cell. We confirmed importance of setting the initial moisture condition for numerical analysis of complex heat and moisture transfer in multi-layer building components. Comparison of measured and calculated temperature profiles in structure show correctness initial condition consideration.

Abstract: The article is focused on the physical analysis of water vapour in functional gap. The creation of condensate (respectively frost) in the cavity is not treated by norms or regulations. The level of importance of condensation is different depending on the material basis. In case of wooden window constructions, the surface treatment is degraded and their technical-physical features. The primary reason of condensation is transfer of humidity through the cavity between the window casement and its frame at reaching the temperature of dew point. The transfer causes: the difference of air pressures (which drifts vapour) – infiltration and exfiltration and diffusion of vapour (different saturation of vapour in external and internal air, diffusion flux is, under certain circumstances, able to flow in a different direction than airflow).

Abstract: The article is focused on the experimental analysis of water vapour in functional gap of wooden window. The experimental measurements were held in a laboratory of heat engineering of the Slovak university of Technology in Bratislava – in a big climatic chamber for synergic phenomena of heat transfer, water vapour diffusion and air filtration.

Abstract: The problem of outer condensation occurs considerably towards the end of summer and early autumn. Surface condensation on the outside of the glazing is rare in the corners, given the fact that the outer edges of the glazing are heated due to a thermal bridge. The coldest point on the outside of the glazing is generally in the middle with the lowest level of heat losses. Surface condensation of water vapour appears on the external surface of an insulating glazing, if the temperature at the surface of the glazing is substantially lower than the air temperature and if it drops below the dew point.

Abstract: The paper analyses and evaluates the factors that cause brickworks to wet. It shows the risk factors of single renovation methods as well. These risk factors determine the suitability of each method for excessive moisture elimination in brickwork.

Abstract: Vapour-proof layer in roof envelope of residential attic has dominant position in terms of moisture regime. It has significant impact on quality and proper functioning of the remaining layers mainly the thermal insulation. The paper points out on the mounting defects in vapour-proof layer installations which occur chiefly due to poor realization during construction. The defects are often ignored, underestimated and their acceptance at earlier and later stages causes serious failures affecting the housing quality.
