Abstract:

Under current conditions of oil industry development in Russia the information technology genesis is getting increasingly important. The operational data “flow” consisting of enourmous number of sensors and gauges and is increasing, reflecting the intensifying interaction between different production processes, and is critical for the decision-making time. Therefore, the communication system in the oilfield is gaining in size and complexity. In the frame of the "digital oilfield" conception that has grown recently over the past few years, the active organization of production processes into unified systems in the oilfield has begun. The first control systems that combine into a single structure the various purposes technological equipment are arising, with their basic element being the data exchange telecommunication networks that allow to fulfill centralized interaction between information resources and decision-makers. Due to central place of the network, such systems have been called "network-centric".
