Loaded Gear Contact Analyses for Pin Gear Reducers

Article Preview

Abstract:

This paper is a study on loaded gear contact analyses (LGCA) and strength calculations of trochoidal gear reducers (TGR). A two-dimensional finite element method (2D-FEM) is used to conduct LGCA and strength calculations of the TGR. Effects of machining errors (ME) and tooth modifications (TM) on tooth load and pin load distributions of the TGR are also discussed.
