Advanced Tooth Surface Modification for Spiral Bevel Gears

Article Preview

Abstract:

Based on the model of tooth surface correction, tooth surface modification methodology of spiral bevel gears which reduces the sensitivity to misalignments was proposed to increase the stability of gearing. Advanced tooth surface modification with three segments parabolic is conducted, which ensures the contact regions’ tooth surface topology almost been unchanged and other regions’ tooth surface are corrected by with parabolic shape modification. And the misalignment tolerance, error sensitivity and strength after modification are compared with the former ones before modification.
