Char Layer of Various Tree Parts from Selected Coniferous Wood

Article Preview

Abstract:

In the paper there is compared wood char layer of various tree parts (branches, trunk, roots) from pine, fir, spruce, larch. The samples were thermally loaded by the radiating source. The course of thermal degradation was evaluated by the char laye. The obtained results showed the influence of tree parts and wood species on calculated fire technical parameters. The values of char layer of wood from branches were the lowest. The char layer of trunk wood was the highest in case of spruce.
