Abstract: Energy harvesting has generated a lot of interest in low power devices and wireless sensing applications as a viable replacement to the batteries that are required to power them. Wireless sensors nodes on the other hand have gain considerable interests from researchers and industries alike. Wireless sensing have the potential to improve productivity of industrial systems by providing greater awareness, control and integration of business processes. This paper attempts to provide an overview of the available technologies and at the same time deduce a practical energy harvesting platform as applied to wireless sensor nodes based on current research.

Abstract: Aapartment houses account for more than 60% of the total of residential buildings to be built in South Korea. In particular, a high-rise apartment house with 21 floors or more has steadily increased in densely populated areas. The heating and cooling energy demand of the apartment house is greatly affected by the shape and the thermal insulation of its building envelope. In addition to its functional efficiency, the shape of building envelope in a high-rise apartment house is considered to be an important factor for the urban landscape with diverse construction methods and materials. In this study, we analyzed the heating and cooling energy demand depending on the effective heat capacity of building structure and the installation position of thermal insulation materials as the design conditions of high-rise apartment houses. This study used the ECO2 energy analysis program for the building energy efficiency grading certification system in South Korea.

Abstract: The main purpose of this paper is to study the communication protocol IEC61850 (Communication Networks and Systems in Substations) to develop of practical fast transmission modes in direct trip schemes, using communication functions to implement protection, control and condition monitoring functions under IEC61850 protocol to complete devices data integration in substation automation system. The way of direct trip schemes can provide fast communication speed to stable power system operation in case of suddenly events occasions. The messages interchange via GOOSE (Generic Object Oriented Substation Event) application is based on the IEC61850 communication protocol to implement fast direct trip modes. It is found that the interaction communication of direct trip schemes among various protective relays can be achieved by the IEC61850 protocol based on GOOSE application to approach system stabile operation under occasionally events.

Abstract: This paper presents a methodology to perform the monitoring and identification of flaws in aircraft structures using an ARTMAP-Fuzzy-Wavelet artificial neural network. This technique is used in the detection and characterization of structural failure. The main application of this method is to assist in the inspection of aircraft structures in order to identify and characterize failures as well as decision-making, in order to avoid accidents or air crashes. In order to evaluate this method, the modeling and simulation of signals from a numerical model of an aluminum beam was performed. The results obtained by the method are satisfactory compared to literature.

Abstract: This paper presents an ARTMAP-Fuzzy-Wavelet artificial neural network to perform the analysis of the structural integrity of a building. The combination of Fuzzy ARTMAP neural network, wavelets transform to generate a tool that performs the identification and characterization of structural failure. This method is applied as a support tool for professionals in the inspection of mechanical and building structures to identify and characterize flaws in order to carry out preventive maintenance to ensure the integrity of the structure and decision making. In order to validate the methodology perform mathematical modeling of a building of two walk, and from this model were simulated different situations (base-line condition and improper conditions), yielding a database of signals that serve as input ARTMAP-Fuzzy-Wavelet neural network. The results obtained by ARTMAP-Fuzzy-Wavelet shown efficiency and robustness.

Abstract: This paper presents relevant methods on navigation accuracy improvement of agricultural vehicle focusing on positioning accuracy and control precision. An adaptive kalman filtering, combination of Sage_Husa adaptive filtering and strong tracking kalman filtering based on strict convergence criterion, is adopted to improve filtering accuracy with strong ability of adaptive filtering and restraining filter divergence. A new variable-structure switching method to prevent PID controller from integrator windup can effectively solve the integral saturation phenomenon, which adopts a kind of adaptive adjustment rate to adjust the integral term of PID control algorithm. Finally, this paper puts the improved adaptive filtering and anti-windup variable-structure PID control technique into combination to effectively restrain interference and integral saturation, so as to achieve the purpose of improving system stability and control precision. The simulation and experiment results show that methods described above greatly enhance the capabilities of restraining filtering divergence and improving control precision.

Abstract: This paper reports experimental investigation of a new concept of waste heat recovery for Thermoelectric Power Generation using Radiative heat exchange principle (TERX). To this end a small scale experimental setup was considered; it was composed of a heated plate, an absorber plate, thermoelectric modules and water cooled heat sink. The dimensions of absorber and heated plates were 0.2 m width and 0.3 m length. The air gap space between the two plates could be adjusted. Ten thermoelectric modules were connected in series parallel (5x2). Tests were made for different air gap spaces and fixed water flow rate (2L/min). A constant electric current (200W) was supplied to the heater of hot plate. Data collected included temperature at various positions and the electrical power generated. Experimental investigation confirmed that using radiative heat exchange principle could be considered for TE waste heat power generation. Increasing air gap decreased the electrical power generated as less radiative heat is absorbed by the thermoelectric modules. Under test conditions, the maximum measured electrical power is 0.3132 W at 0.5 cm of air gap, the corresponding temperature difference between the hot and cool sides of thermoelectric modules was about 35oC. Due to its simplicity of installation as no there is no need for direct contact between the thermoelectric generation set and the source of heat, the proposed concept offers a new alternative for waste heat recovery.

Abstract: Engineering change management (ECM) affect to cost that are generated during the designing and manufacturing process. ECM also affects to the time how fast the product is on market. The changes have to be made quickly and the notifications of the changes have to reach the person who may need the information. Product Data Management (PDM) is the system which is not only storage place for the data; it is a tool which should make ECs faster and more effective. This paper deals with the techniques that are in use to handle the ECs with the help of PDM system.

Abstract: Reconstruction of internal plaster in historical buildings belongs to significant and obvious treatment in a landmark area that helps protect irreplaceable cultural resources. Original form of historical buildings has been usually altered over time and alterations are an important part of the building's history. These interventions don ́t often respect the basic function of interior. Results of these changes cause plaster and painting decay, slow air flow and higher air moisture concentration. Computer simulation plays major role in determining places where is necessary to apply surface protection that will preserve the valuable interior surface against negative influences such as high level of moisture, fungus, chemical reactions etc. Abatement of negative influences within historic buildings requires particular care if important historic finishes are not to be adversely affected. Reconstruction of historical interiors should be designed to minimize visual changes to a historic building. Choosing the most appropriate treatment for a historical building requires careful decision making about using of appropriate material for renovation. Using of nanofibers should be minimal modifications to the historic appearance and protect from negative influences.
