A Bias Structure Lines Design Method in Clothing Pattern Making

Abstract:

Eight sample clothing were designed and made in order to study on bias structure line design. The characteristics of the bias structure lines in clothing pattern making were analyzed and compared with conventional lines. The bias structure lines affected clothing girth and length, and the diagonal angle had direct proportional relationship with dart size. The waist line direction is changed to slant in bias structure line. A bias structure lines design method was summarized, and the detailed steps and methods were described.
