Abstract:

As a trend all over the world, the large building roof has been studied for a long time in many countries excluding China. Therefore, the paper attempts to provide practical technological guidance for tree planting on roofs in China by studying the case of Nanhaifanyin Square (with an area of 3.4 hectares) in Foshan , Guangdong Province. The tree planting on the roof of large-scale roof gardens is studied and discussed in this paper and relevant technological strategies are put forward in the last section. The paper will also illustrate the problems occurred in the process and relevant solutions will be summarized accordingly in view of the project of Nanhaifanyin Square. This case applying advanced roof greening techniques and fully embodies the planting process, as well as post-planting maintenance and management of trees. And most importantly, it provides reference techniques and methods for tree planting on large-scale roof gardens in terms of matrix, methods, planting procedure, maintenance and management.
