Abstract:

According to the investigation on the vegetation characteristics of roadside slopes in Zigui County of Three Gorges Reservoir area, there were total 51 species of plant found, belonging to 17 families and 43 genera, among which herbs and shrubs are dominant plants. Most species of plants were belonging to Gramineae (6 species), Asteraceae (4 species), Leguminesae (4 species) and Rosaceae (3 species), and 11 relatively stable plant communities were found. The vegetation on the investigated roadside slope is distributed in spot piece and scattered mainly with fewer species of plant, with lower species diversity. The diversity index and the evenness index of every plant community were calculated and the summed dominance ratio of every plant was analyzed to find out dominant species in each of the communities. The formation and succession of these communities, species were enriched and diversity increased, which is good for the vegetation restoration on the roadside slope.
