Binder Leakage Test Methodology of Drainage Asphalt Mixture

Article Preview

Abstract:

Based on the binder leakage tests at 170°C and 185°C, three methods of binder leakage tests including the beaker method, the enamel plate method and the basket method were compared to analyze the rational control index of binder leakage loss of asphalt mixture .Then the Marshall test, scattering loss test, rutting test and design voids were used to verify the pavement performance of drainage asphalt mixture. Results showed that the basket method of binder leakage loss rate of 0.8% of the maximum amount of asphalt can satisfy the pavement performance requirements and can be the fundamental basis to determine the maximum drainage asphalt content.
