Article Preview

Abstract:

In recent years, environmental issues are becoming more intense and widespread resulting in industries to consider adopting issues of sustainability and environment into their business operations. Small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) are the backbone of Malaysia’s economy and have a significant cumulative impact on the environment [1]. Any framework or policy initiatives aimed towards fundamental and sustainable environmental improvements of local business practices will have to take this huge and important sector into account. This paper presents part of the findings of the study which investigate and compare the exclusive characteristics of Malaysia and United Kingdom (UK) SMEs and how these traits will lead to the adoption or rejection of green practices in the organisation.
