The Discriminate Condition for Foot-Cut of the Conjugation with Two Degrees of Freedom

Article Preview

Abstract:

This paper deduced a new kind of discriminate equation of foot-cut of the gearing with 2-degrees of freedom, and introduced the application of this new equation. Some times the surface to be machined or the gear profile to be generated could be expressed by the equation as: , but some times the surface to be machined or the gear to be generated could only be expressed by the equation as: F ( x,y,z ) = 0 . If the surface or gear profile is expressed by the formal one, we already have several kinds of discriminate equations to deal with the problem of foot cut. But how about the occasions when the surface to be machined can be expressed by the equation as: F ( x,y,z ) = 0 . This paper deduced a new discriminate equation to calculate the foot cut condition and find the way to prevent it.
