New Geometry of Face-Gear with Curvilinear Shaped Teeth and Non-Zero Spiral Angle: Machining Mathematical Model Analysis and Simulation

New geometry of face-gear with curvilinear shaped teeth is proposed in this paper. The generation of the face-gear is based on application of a tilted head-cutter instead of application of a hob applied at present. The machining method for the gear is studied based on the differential geometry and meshing theory. The cutting simulation of the curvilinear-tooth gear is presented based on the developed gear’s machining mathematical model.
