Finite Element Analysis for Cyclic Behavior of Exposed Type of Column Bases Subjected to Tensile Force

Article Preview

Abstract:

This paper presents the results of analytical studies on exposed type of column bases, which were carried out to investigate the effect of tensile force on cyclic behavior of column bases. The cyclic behavior of the column bases subjected to tensile force ratio n > -0.4 is stable. While, in the column bases subjected to tensile force ratio n < -0.6, the deformation of base columns progresses with increasing severely under a constant amplitude.
