Experimental Research on Special-Shaped CFST Arch Bridge Model

Article Preview

Abstract:

The main bridge structure of the bridge engineering cross Yitong river, on the 102 national road, is a three-Span flying swallow type special-shaped CSFT arch bridge. This paper introduces the design, process and results of the static model test of the CFST arch bridge.

[1] Experimental research on bridge model is an effective means of special bridge. The scale model was proved to be accurate by the static characteristics comparison between measuring and the finite element analysis. The FE analysis is an effective means of analyzing mechanical behavior of bridge.

[2] Because the counter weight is larger in this static model test, three scales, 1/8, 1/4 and 1/2 of the total calculated counter weight are adopted to conduct the test. Comparison of the analysis results of FE analysis and the static test results under each scale counter weight is verified to be closed to each other except the 1/8 scale counter weight. It is generally believed that the counter weight of this test is effective and reasonable and the bridge model simulates the real bridge very well.

[3] The bridge keeps working in the elastic stage when it is acted under the load combination of dead load and moving load. The stress and displacement of the key sections can satisfy the design code, which confirms that the structure design of this CFST arch bridge is reasonable and safe.
