Research on the Electrochemical Behaviour of H05MnNiMo and H06H1 Submerged Arc Welded Seam in the S2- Medium

Welding sticks H05MnNiMo and H06H1 are developed to improve the corrosion resisting property of the X80 pipeline in submerged arc welding. Influence of the concentration of sulfur-bearing medium and the temperature on the corrosion of welding seam from X80 pipeline steel was investigated with the Electrochemical Polarization Method and Weight loss Method. And the characteristic and mechanical of the welding seam was discussed. The results show that the welding seam prepared in H05MnNiMo is of high corrosion potential, both of the welding seams have a maximum of corrosion rate 1.0×10-7 mm/a, in the S2- bearing solution with a S2- concentration from 1.0% to 2.5%, at the temperature from 20 OC to 60 OC, thus they can be classified as anti-corrosive material.
