Synthesis and Analysis of the Handheld Computer Power Consumption

Article Preview

Abstract:

In this work we present some experiments based on a measurement set up to evaluate the power consumption of VAIO SZ series while running various programs. The power consumption of the laptop is measured while running MP3 and some other programs such as Matlab and graphical games. Also, the effect of display brightness on the power consumption of the computer has been studied. The maximum power consumption is related to graphical games which are measured to be 375W. Running the MP3 with half brightness application consumed the least power of 150W. The battery life time is inversely proportional to the power consumption.
